Great to gain a little more insight into Jodi – Haiku, love of classic literature, approach to writing – things which come through in her writing in subtle ways. Vampire Gustav … into Annual Review Editor’s Choice
My story The Vampire Gustav at the End of the Universe published in Bewildering Stories, and already selected for their final quarter 2009 quarterly review, has also been selected in their Annual Review 2009 Editors’ Choices, issues 319 – 365. This was one of my least plot-driven stories of the year, so I’m pleased and honoured that it’s being selected for these reviews.
Vampire Gustav … in quarterly best
My story “The Vampire Gustav at the End of the Universe” has been selected as part of the Bewildering Stories Quarterly Best (fourth quarter, issues 355-365). I’m pretty honoured – especially since “Gustav” is one of my strangest tales (actually, that’s probably what makes it a good fit for Bewildering Stories).

Flicking through the web I stumbled on Nathan’s (editor of MicroHorror) story I Know an Old Lady in Apex Magazine from a couple of years back. I’ve seen some of Mr Rosen’s stories before and always been impressed – this particular one is just primo.
Fiancées Among Us published in Flashes in the Dark
My latest story ‘Fiancées Among Us’ has been published in the fabulous Flashes in the Dark. It was intriguing to write something more supernatural again, lots of my recent stories have been a bit more reality based. Or not. Anyway, this is my entry for their Worst of Love contest.

Horror Through the Ages anthology out now
The first anthology from Lame Goat Press, Horror Through the Ages is available now. This has a great list of contributors – Jodi MacArthur, Robert C Eccles, Kevin Wallis and so on – 27 contributors in all. Edited by Christopher Jacobsmeyer. Equilibrium, new horror story out …
My strange tale Equilibrium has just been published in The Daily Tourniquet. It’s a bit more conceptual, in terms of milieu than most of my stories – a different place, a different world, something vaguer and darker than I would normally write. Have a read here.
New story coming out on September 25th
My story “Submissions” is coming out soon in The New Flesh. This follows “While he Lay Crumpled” from a few weeks ago, but is a very different kind of story. New flesh is a very creepy online magazine. Read the latest stories here. As usual, I’ll update when the story comes out.
