While we are still trying to sort out the tracks for the Sassere installation Forgotten Trees, I came across an old Venus Vulture ep “Alien Cities” sitting on the harddrive and started wondering whether to release that.  It’s three brooding tracks I was working on in about 2003 – they got pushed aside with other projects at the time.  As Forgotten Trees needs more thinking about, I might just release them in the interim – through archive.org?  Alien Cities isn’t an installation as such – just the one cover illustration, but still might deserve a release.  We’ll see.

Still working on the Sassere installation Forgotten Trees, though some of the images are up at Flickr already.  Not sure what shape the soundtrack will have, whether we’ll put in some of the longer tracks we have in the works, or just keep to shorter pieces – it really affects the mood of the piece – we want to be giving the idea of being lost in a northern forest in autumn or winter, with bare trees all around … some muddy puddles, the odd crow flying overhead, perhaps some deer or moose ambling along just at the edge of perception … perhaps the sad sound of a chainsaw or oilpump on the other side of the ridge …

 ps – the site is working well now – a couple of broken links which I’ll fix tonight.

Most of the posts seem to be about the website, rather than music or art, but then, the website is still being created – it’s nearly there and once done I’ll talk more about the creative side.  I will put up a post about the Sassere installation soon.

I tried to embed the Splinter video into the Currents page, but it comes up as “video no longer available” which is untrue, since it’s still available on Youtube. I’ll keep trying to figure that out.

venusvulture.com is starting to take shape the way I want it to look.  The links seem to be working … just need to tidy up a few things to get the basics working, then I can start doing the fancy stuff like putting the archive up and broadening the access to graphics.  I also added the VV logo to the Cafepress site to that looks a bit sharper.

I spent the last evening getting some information on the site.  There are still lots of things to put up – news, links, music, graphics … whew – but the links to current music – the Currents soundscape/exhibition and abyssos, as well as resting bell (just the main site – will update when phantomshadows goes online) – are there.

We’ve got the site www.venusvulture.com underway. Not much there at the moment, but the site will develop over coming weeks.

I’ve put a new video from the Currents soundscape/installation up on youtube – check splinter. This is a pretty grainy low-res version.  Having problems with the connection and convincing youtube to accept the higher res version.  Will post again when this is done.
